Jacob White Construction was founded in 1992 by Jeff Mickler, a native Texan with a passion for carpentry and design. That passion fueled a commitment to service and a legacy of excellence that remains in JWC today.

500 projects completed with Texas Children's Hospital
In 2003, we reached a significant milestone by completing 500 projects with Texas Children's Hospital, a journey that began with an initial cold call to Mark Kennedy.

Nasa Project
We had the privilege of completing our first project with NASA, a partnership that began with a shared vision and has since evolved into a long-standing collaboration.

First Green Roof
Jeff Mickler, President of Jacob White Construction, led the completion of the award-winning Gold LEED-certified medical office building at 251 Medical Center Boulevard. This facility has garnered numerous accolades, including the Houston Business Journal's Green Project Landmark Award in 2008 and the Texas Rain Catcher Award in 2007 for its innovative rainwater harvesting systems. Notably, 251 Medical Center Boulevard also boasts the largest green roof in Texas.

Jacob White: A New Era
A new 10,000-square-foot headquarters was built in Friendswood, earning LEED Platinum certification, placing it among a select few buildings in Texas. The building's green roof has been the subject of several experiments by Texas A&M University, underscoring its role as a model of sustainability.

A leader in forward-thinking solutions, JWC integrated LuminOre Copper Touch Antimicrobial Surfacing into projects, providing an added layer of protection for building occupants by reducing the spread of illness through high-touch surfaces.

To better serve central Texas, Jacob White Construction opened a branch in San Antonio, focusing on higher education and medical projects to meet the growing demand in the region.

Sean Mickler

As CEO of Jacob White Construction, Sean has dedicated nearly two decades of his career to refining his expertise in multiple facets of the construction industry alongside clients from all market sectors. A proud alumnus of Purdue University, Sean’s passion resides in the continued organizational leadership and strategic planning of Jacob White. Since the inception of his career, Sean has played a front role in some of Jacob White’s most complex projects including numerous mid-rise medical office buildings, surgical centers, marinas, and corporate aviation terminals throughout the United States. Sean is driven by the goal of ensuring that the organization’s team of construction professionals consistently deliver projects that exceed all client expectations.

Sean holds a FAA Airline Transport Pilot rating with pilot in command privileges on multiple Cessna, Beechcraft, and Embraer business aircraft. Sean also holds a Certified Flight Instructor rating and enjoys working with aspiring pilots to develop a pathway for their goals. Sean and his wife reside in Friendswood, Texas with their three children.

Chris White

With 20 years of industry experience, Chris White leads Jacob White Construction with a deep passion for building and a commitment to excellence. A graduate of Rice University’s School of Architecture and an active mentor in Rice’s Architecture Mentorship Program, Chris brings a designer’s eye to every project, ensuring that each build reflects both aesthetic vision and structural integrity.

Chris takes a hands-on approach to day-to-day operations, fostering a culture of quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction. His high-energy, results-driven leadership enables him to see projects from the client’s perspective, guiding them seamlessly through each phase of construction to deliver outstanding results.

Chris has held key leadership roles, including Project Manager, Vice President, Vice President of Business Development, and Executive Vice President across the healthcare, retail, and office construction sectors. These experiences have sharpened his expertise and deepened his passion for transforming spaces into their best possible versions—advancing the construction industry one project at a time.

Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and daughter on the baseball and soccer fields, trying to keep up with their endless energy.

Nick Abay

As Vice President of Jacob White Construction, Nick Abay leverages over a decade of experience in project management and business operations to drive the company’s mission of delivering exceptional construction projects. With a background rooted in engineering and a proven track record of leading complex initiatives, Nick brings a results-oriented approach to every aspect of his role.

Nick’s leadership spans project strategy, execution, and client relations, ensuring that each build reflects Jacob White Construction’s commitment to innovation, quality, and client satisfaction. Known for his collaborative style and problem-solving acumen, Nick works closely with teams across the organization to optimize processes and deliver successful outcomes. Outside of his professional pursuits, Nick is passionate about mentoring emerging leaders and exploring new advancements in construction technology.

As Director of Client Relations & Field Operations at Jacob White Construction, Greg Trujillo brings 39 years of diverse experience in the construction industry, having held key roles such as Superintendent, Senior Project Manager, Project Executive, and Business Development leader. Known for his expertise in managing highly technical and sustainable projects, Greg’s leadership in the Houston market reflects Jacob White Construction’s commitment to quality and innovation.

A versatile “seller doer,” Greg identifies and drives new opportunities across the company’s core markets, blending his business development acumen with hands-on project management. His extensive experience spans Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Life Sciences, Tenant Improvement, Higher Education, Entertainment, and Amusement Parks, enabling him to deliver tailored solutions for complex construction needs. Greg’s passion for fostering client relationships and managing projects to successful outcomes positions him as a driving force behind Jacob White’s growth and success. When he’s not managing transformative projects, Greg enjoys contributing to the development of the next generation of builders and exploring innovative approaches to construction challenges.
