From Vision to Reality

JWC partnered with KGA Architecture to bring the Kickapoo Tribe’s first-ever school to life in Eagle Pass, Texas. Spanning 58,000 square feet, this unique K-12 facility was designed not only to educate the tribe’s children but also to serve as a community hub, blending modern classrooms with spaces for creative learning and cultural enrichment.

The project included everything from daycare and sewing rooms to outdoor water splash pads, parks, and basketball courts. The classrooms were designed with open garage doors, seamlessly connecting the indoors to the outdoors and creating a collaborative learning environment. With thoughtful furniture choices like wobble stools and repurposed bicycles, the design catered to students with ADHD, reflecting the tribe’s commitment to providing an inclusive, engaging space that would help their community thrive. The new school now stands as a beacon of education and opportunity, offering a space where the tribe’s children can grow, learn, and contribute to the prosperity of their community.
